Who is blackmoon?
Olivia Pasquetti — founder and creative force behind Blackmoon Studios. With a foundation in fine art and a relentless pull toward shadow, I create cinematic imagery for those who refuse to be seen softly. My work is built on intention, contrast, and presence — equal parts discipline and defiance.
I approach photography as construction rather than documentation. Every frame is deliberate. Light is sculpted. Shadow is weaponized. Color is chosen with precision. Nothing is accidental.
Blackmoon Studios creates cinematic imagery for those who live outside the lines — drawn to contrast, intensity, and atmosphere. My work leans into drama: bold composition, controlled chaos, charged stillness. These aren’t just photographs; they are scenes — fragments of a film you can feel in your chest.
I am not here to manufacture perfect smiles.
I am here to reveal truth.
Raw connection. Defiance. Seduction. Power. Vulnerability without dilution.
That same energy extends beyond the studio and into the pit, photographing shows and bands with the same cinematic intention — chasing the tension before the breakdown, the sweat under stage lights, the devotion in a crowd’s outstretched hands. Live music is ritual. Performance is possession. I document it as transformation — fleeting, feral, unforgettable.
Whether it’s an artist on stage or an individual in front of my lens, I am drawn to presence — the electricity of someone fully embodied in their identity.
With over ten years of professional experience, a Bachelor of Arts in Photography, and as a Professor of Photography at Sierra College, my work is grounded in technical mastery and artistic discipline. I am currently pursuing my Master’s degree in photography, continuing to push the conceptual depth of my practice.
Blackmoon Studios is not about fitting into tradition.
It’s about reclaiming space.
It’s about being seen in your fullest, boldest form.
If you’re ready to step into something cinematic, untamed, and impossible to ignore — welcome to Blackmoon.
